Dutch archives on social media

Below is a list of archives who are active on a few popular socal media, like Twitter or Facebook. The list is probably incomplete, if you discover an archive that should be listed but is not please let me know.

Twitter

Most larger and many smaller archives are on Twitter (notable exceptions are the provincial archives of Limburg and Overijssel and the city archive of Den Haag). Nearly all archive tweets are in Dutch.

Only the official twitter accounts of Dutch archives are listed. Many archivists and other archive staff tweet on their own accounts, these are not listed here.

National archives: National Archive (@gahetNA), National Library of The Netherlands (@KB_Nederland, @krantenkb), Central Bureau for Genealogy (@CBGenealogie).

Provincial archives: Drenthe (@drentsarchief), Flevoland (@nieuw_land), Friesland (@Tresoar), Gelderland (@geldersarchief), Groningen (@gronarch), Noord-Brabant (@bhicarchief), Noord-Holland (@NHArchief), Utrecht (@utrechtsarchief), Zeeland (@zeeuwsarchief, @zeeuwengezocht, @ZeeuwsArchiefED).

Facebook

An increasing number of Dutch archives has a facebook page: The National Archive and the Central Bureau for Genealogy, the provincial archives of Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Flevoland, Utrecht, Noord-Holland, Zeeland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg, and the regional and local archives of Alkmaar, Amsterdam, Bergen op Zoom, Eemland, Groene Hart, De Liemers en Doesburg, Oss, Rotterdam, Schiedam, Venlo, Westland and Zutphen.

There is also a discussion group for Zeeuwen Gezocht, the database of the Zeeland archive.

The Wie Was Wie team also has a facebook page.

Google+

Very few Dutch archives are active on Google+. I found Tresoar and a Tresoar community, but that's it.

Flickr

A few Dutch archives share images on Flickr. These are the National Archive, the provincial archives of Friesland, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland, Flevoland, Utrecht, Noord-Holland and Noord-Brabant, and the local or regional archives from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Land van Heusden en Altena, Achterhoek, Breda, Eemland, 's-Hertogenbosch, Nijmegen, Roosendaal, Schiedam, Tilburg, Veenendaal, Venray and Zeist.

Youtube

Most Dutch archives have moving images in their collections. Some share a few fragments on Youtube. Other archives share films of current events at their archive or in their region. The Dutch archives with a youtube channel are: The national archive, the national library, the provincial archives of Drenthe, Flevoland, Friesland, Noord-Brabant and Noord-Holland, and the local and regional archives of Alkmaar, Eemland, Leeuwarden, Rotterdam, Tilburg and Wageningen.

Pinterest

Pinterest is the new kid in social media town. A few Dutch archives are already experimenting with it: I found the provincial archives of Friesland, Noord-Brabant and Zeeland, and the regional and local archives of Alkmaar and Tilburg.
